The legendary Dunlop, supported by a new global strategy and its transition to the Sumitomo Group, is entering the Croatian and Slovenian markets with the support of Tokić Group as the strongest regional tire distributor.
A major strategic shift for Dunlop occurred at the beginning of 2026, when the Japanese corporation Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) acquired the rights to the Dunlop brand for passenger car and light commercial vehicle tires from Goodyear. Sumitomo is currently the sixth-largest tire manufacturer in the world, and with Falken and Dunlop in its portfolio, this position has strong potential for further growth.
Five-Year Warranty
As a legendary brand, Dunlop is credited with inventing the world’s first tire in 1888, when Scottish veterinarian John Boyd Dunlop developed and patented the first pneumatic tire. During the 1960s, Dunlop was among the first to recognize the phenomenon of aquaplaning, which remains crucial today for maintaining safe tire grip on wet surfaces.
Dunlop and Falken, globally recognized brands with numerous original equipment references, are available through the sales channels of Tokić Group — including Bartog in Slovenia — with a five-year warranty that starts from the moment of sale, rather than from the date indicated by the DOT marking printed on the tire.
A Program for Safety and Driving Enjoyment
With a focus on safety, performance, and a premium driving experience, Dunlop brings innovative tire models such as Sport Maxx Race 2, Sport Maxx GT, Sport Maxx RT2, and Sport Response, while the new Sport BluResponse model will soon be introduced to the market. The offer also includes Econodrive tires for light commercial vehicles, as well as the Sport Classic model designed for classic cars.
Dunlop tires will be available to drivers and service centers in Croatia and Slovenia through the Tokić Group distribution network, offering fast logistics, wide product availability, and expert support from specialized sales advisors.
